What is TKA JROTC?
TKA (The King's Academy) JROTC is proud to be the first home educated JROTC program in the nation. We are dedicated to honoring God and Country and strive to become the next greatest generation! The United States Army Junior Reserve Officer’s Training Corps program seeks to train students to develop integrity and character and prepares them to become productive citizens and leaders in the community. It is NOT a military recruitment program! The curriculum is designed for both civilian and military-minded students.
JROTC provides at least 3 years leadership training and up to 4 credits of education in areas of citizenship, communication, and physical fitness. Students do not need to be enrolled full-time at The King’s Academy in order to participate. TKA offers two sessions of JROTC. Session A classes meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 08:00 to 11:00 a.m. Session B classes meet on Tuesdays and Fridays during the same times. Both sessions begin in coordination with the start of TKA school year and both sessions have a voluntary Bible Discipleship class that starts at 07:30 AM every morning. This class fulfills the academic elective requirement each year JROTC is taken. Special Teams such as Raider Team, Drill Team or Color Guard normally have practice after class on the assigned class days during their respective seasons.
Cost of the program: Enrollment fee of $350 is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable. Tuition is $200 per month for a 10 month school year.
We welcome home educated high school students from all around the area to join with us in this endeavor!
